RiscCPS

Strider on RiscCPS RiscCPS has been put together by David McEwen (rather than a port of someone else's work as many of his emulators have been). It is an emulator of the CPS (Capcom Play System) games that were popular in the arcades in the early 90s. The CPS games supported are for the CPS1 and CPS2 systems, the second being notorious for the way it's software on ROM was encrypted. These games include Final Fight, Strider and Street Fighter 2, the author of Final Burn (the first CPS2 emulator for the PC) put together a brief overview of some of Capcom's accomplishments.

The emulator's requirements are fairly demanding performing at just under full speed on a StrongARM, and requiring at least 24Mb of RAM to do anything useful (and much more for some larger games). That said though, if your machine is up to the job these are some of the best arcade games available under emulation and are true classics putting to shame practically anything available natively for RISC OS. David is to be congratulated for bringing CPS2 emulation to RISC OS so soon after it first became available on other platforms.

Speed Rating: minimum StrongARM needed and it'll still be a bit slow.
