Taking a break from the hell of coursework to tell you that...

I've updated the MESS page a little with the news that eventually the Sega Master System and Game Gear will also be supported by the multi-console emulator.

One of the big pieces of news this time, is that Gareth Long, author of ARM MAME and co-author or MESS, has contacted the SNES9x team concerning doing a port to the Acorn, and is now in charge of doing the Acorn port. Look out for a SNES emulator coming your way soon(ish)!

Ian Molton has just released the first version of his port of Virtual 2600 an Atari 2600 emulator for the Acorn.

David Mcewen, famous for his ports of ColEm and fMSX is working on porting VICE, the C64 and other commodore computers emulator as well as PC Dragon. Watch this space!

Paul Clifford's PC Engine emulator is nearly finished and almost ready for release, it runs at full speed on a StrongARM, and around 15-20 fps on an ARM710.

Thanks to Michael Koenig, who sent me a link for a recommended Apple][e game, Wasteland. He also sent a few nice screenshots of Elite on the C64 and CPC, and of Wasteland on the Apple][e.

Ian Molton who has just released Virtual 2600 seems to have caught the emulation bug, and is considering writing an Atari Lynx emulator from scratch in ARM code. He would welcome any technical documents you can send him.

I have started writing a 6502 emulator in 100% ARM code. This is pretty highly optimised (I'm very grateful to Rich Talbot-Watkins, Miracle author, for his advice so far) and I will hopefully release it as a free general CPU core for use in Acorn emulators (much like Marat Fayzullin's 6502 in C), since the 6502 is used in many systems, Apple][, Oric, NES, and BBC to name but a few. If you are looking at emulating a 6502 system, please feel free to get in touch!
