The philosophy behind ESP's range of music and computer resources is based on three key principles:
ESP has been developing music products based on these principles for over 10 years. Our product development process involves research into children and classrooms and in collaborating with developers and research groups worldwide. This is a continual and ongoing process.
Although everyone is musical, many do not get involved in creative participation in musical tasks. We believe that carefully designed musical software can make a significant difference. It can provide direct access to a wealth of sounds and structures, it can support the learning and teaching of music and it can give us greater insight into our musical abilities and how music should best be taught and practised.
This catalogue contains products developed by ESP as well as collaborative developments with other UK Music experts. The products encompass musical performance, listening and composing. They are aimed largely at education from ages 5 to 15.
Our classroom support materials provide excellent information on how to get the best use from the software. The resources have been developed by music educators and classroom practitioners and have been extensively trialed and tested.
Our products have been developed mainly for Windows on a PC. We also provide some support for Acorn RiscOS and Apple MacOS. The computer system for which the product is available is indicated by the Acorn, Windows and Apple symbols.
