CDFS

- The Compact Disc Filing System, CDFS, has undergone a complete rewrite.
- A new CDManager module has been created to handle all the requirements of audio CDs.
- The abstraction layer for CDFS has now been made flatter, simplifying the job of writing device drivers for CD-ROM drives.
- The new system is also more tolerant of faults in the CD format. Many supposedly standard ISO9660 CDs actually break the rules; CDFS will now ignore the infringements and continue reading the disc.
- The new CDFS will not provide support for DVD, the successor to CDs. It is currently too early to produce drivers, as the standards have not yet been settled. There is nothing to prevent support being added to CDFS in the future, however.
