The idea of setting up the 'Digital Databank' was conceived by the Webmaster, after spending a number of frustrating hours trying to find some Acorn related information, without success.
The Webmaster decided that there was a specific need to gather as much Acorn information as possible under one roof, and broadcast it to as many people as possible. But what medium to use? It had to cover as large a geographical area as possible and needed to be updated as frequently as possible.
To reflect the direction of the project, the web site was called the 'Digital Databank'.
